Update: Sewer Conservation Advisory Lifted for Most of Beachside S. of Pineda

From Brevard County Utilities: Sewer conservation is no longer required for beachside residents south of Pineda Causeway. It is still in effect for Merritt Island residents south of Pineda Causeway.

Brevard County Utilities is asking beachside/barrier islands residents south of Pineda Causeway to limit sewer usage, including laundry, showers and toilet flushing, until further notice, while stress on the sewer systems is being relieved.

Brevard County Utilities is asking beachside/barrier islands residents south of Pineda Causeway to limit sewer usage, including laundry, showers and toilet flushing, until further notice, while stress on the sewer systems is being relieved.

ORIGINAL STORY: Sept. 11, 2017

Residents who live beachside, from Pineda Causeway south are asked to reduce water usage after a major lift station for the area lost power during Hurricane Irma Sunday night.

Brevard County Utilities said residents are asked to reduce water usage especially flushing toilets, doing laundry and long showers.

Limiting water usage will help reduce the chances of backups into residents’ homes and into the streets and river.
