The City of Melbourne’s first “Pickets for Parks” have been installed around the new playground at Riverview Park.
Pickets for Parks gives park lovers and generous community supporters a chance to help accelerate planned park improvements at Riverview Park by purchasing a customized engraved picket. Each picket costs $100, and funds raised will be put toward the installation of the decorative fencing and new restroom facilities for playground visitors.
Since the program began last year, a wide variety of community members, families, small business owners, churches and nonprofit organizations have purchased pickets that are now part of the Riverview Park playground fence.
“We are proud to be a Play Melbourne Parks & Recreation partner and to have the opportunity to support the revitalization at Riverview Park,” said Lilly Marshall, owner of River Oak Dental.
“As a downtown business owner, I believe in beautification and revitalization and realize the positive impact it has in our community,” said Kyle Graham, owner of Millefiori Skin Care and member of the Melbourne Mainstreet Board of Directors. “We are thrilled to be able to contribute to the revitalization of Riverview Park and continue to shape our community as a destination for people live, work and play.”
