Event: Armed Disturbance/Kidnapping

Date/Time of Event: July 6th, 2017 2221hrs

Location of Event: 1584 Highland Ave. Melbourne, FL 32935

The Melbourne Police Department responded to the 1584 Highland Ave. regarding an armed disturbance. A subject later identified as Tyrone M. Reynolds Jr. was reported to have pointed a firearm at the victim and fled in a black vehicle. Several units converged and located the vehicle leaving the area in close proximity. Further investigation revealed another person in the vehicle was kidnapped at gunpoint and forced into the vehicle prior to the stop. An additional passenger in the vehicle identified as Terrell D. Carpenter was found to have acted in concert during the kidnapping. A loaded .40cal semiautomatic firearm was discovered in the glove box near where Reynolds was located in the front seat. Both Reynolds and Carpenter are convicted felons and prohibited from possessing firearms.
