On June 13, the Melbourne City Council issued a proclamation designating June as “Homeownership Month” in the City of Melbourne.

Homeownership Month is annually celebrated to promote and preserve homeownership opportunities and the benefits of owning and maintaining a home. The City of Melbourne encourages all residents to use Homeownership Month as an opportunity to consider homeownership opportunities and evaluate the many programs available to help them purchase and renovate their home.

“A home provides shelter and a safe place where a family can prosper and children can thrive — and it is certainly an important financial investment,” said Melbourne Housing and Urban Improvement Program Manager Denise Carter. “We are using National Homeownership Month to raise awareness about homeownership, our housing providers and the homeownership and renovation programs funded by the City of Melbourne.”

To find out how one of these housing programs may help you purchase a home in the City of Melbourne, contact the Housing & Urban Improvement Office at 321-674-5734.
