Mayor Meehan and Pickets for Parks

The Pickets for Parks campaign is well on its way to meeting its goal of raising $30,000 to help fund improvements at Riverview Park.

Since the program began in late October 2016, 55 pickets have been purchased by a wide variety of community members, including families, small business owners, churches and nonprofit organizations. Some have even dedicated a picket in memory of a loved one.

Play Melbourne Parks & Recreation is aiming to hit their spring milestone of 100 pickets, which will put the campaign 1/3 of the way to its goal.

Pickets for Parks gives park lovers and generous community supporters a chance to help accelerate planned park improvements at Riverview Park by purchasing a customized engraved picket ($100.00) for the fence surrounding the park’s new playground. Funds raised will be put toward the installation of decorative fencing and new restroom facilities for playground visitors.

To have your picket be among the first to be installed this spring please submit your sponsorship by March 20. Visit http://playmelbournefl.org/our-projects/riverview-park-revitalization/  for more information and to participate.
