New Playground Coming Soon to Cleave S. Frink Park
The Melbourne City Council has approved a project to purchase and install new playground equipment at Cleave S. Frink Park, a small neighborhood park across the street from Lipscomb Park that is used primarily by neighborhood families and children.
The new playground equipment will be more modern, challenging and stimulating for children than the existing outdated structure at the park.
Staff were able to leverage a grant of $17,237 from the manufacturer in order to purchase a larger structure with more features than would have been possible with the funds that were budgeted for this project.
Total cost for the new playground will be $54,246.62, and will be fully funded through the City’s Community Development Block Grant Program. Construction and installation is planned for this spring, and the new playground should open to the public early this summer.
