Mayors' Fitness Challenge: Help Melbourne Become the Healthiest City in Brevard!

Post Date:01/11/2017 10:09 AM

Melbourne Mayor Kathy Meehan has joined with other mayors in Brevard County to issue the “Mayors’ Fitness Challenge.”

This 13-week challenge begins on Feb. 4 and is designed to inspire all residents to improve their health and fitness in 2017 by encouraging competition among Brevard’s communities.

The winning team will be determined by the city that has the largest percentage of its community join the challenge plus the largest number of minutes spent exercising. The municipality with the most points will win the challenger trophy, “Most Fit City 2017.”

The Mayors’ Fitness Challenge also includes a “Great Weight-Off” component. The individual top weight loser (calculated by percentage of weight lost) during the 13 weeks will win a $500 cash prize. All participants of the "Great Weight-Off" must be weighed in at the Kick-Off Event or at a Health First facility between Monday, January 30 and Friday, February 3, between the hours of 9am-8pm.
